I think the main problems reported wrt Emacs/LessTif were lockups when
using menus, esp. the popup menus (e.g. the one shown with C-mouse-1).
I found no reliable way to reproduce this, but I've experienced such
lockups myself. People using Emacs on GNU/Linux seem to see this more
often than I do on FreeBSD.
(Caution---when Emacs is locked up, there's usually a keyboard grab
active which prevents one from switching to another virtual console or
kill the X server with a key combo.)
