A little update on printing.
I've been adding code to use the Motif printing API to Xinvest. However I
have no Motif and I'm implementing this API in LessTif while I'm using it
in Xinvest. (Note that I'm simplifying - I'm talking about XmPrint as well
as the CDE DtPrint API's.)
Not a very easy path to follow, I can assure you.
Anyway the report window is now showing reasonable output, see the
attachment.
I'll try to come up with instructions on how to do this if anyone
wants them, the ones I sent a while ago could do with an update.
Things that remain to be done :
- too many :-)
- make XmPrint/DtPrint support better in LessTif
(it is incomplete in many points)
- get Xinvest to generate more than one page when hitting the bottom of
the current page
- write printing support for other Xinvest reports
In general getting Xinvest to do this was not too hard, especially if you
know that the application has never been written with more than one X Display
in mind. And yes, this is what Xprt does to you !
I should probably start writing instructions on how to write programs
against the XmPrint API, as I found that to be scarce as well.
Oh yeah, if anyone has access to a CDE system, I would be *very* interested
in learning whether my implementation works on that too ..
