I'm also running it now.
After your reports about little change, I couldn't help myself and looked
inside their ChangeLog. It reveals that they didn't do much on it
since January 1999 (!) except for a fork identifier, the recent
libtool 1.4 fixes, and the "automake -c -a" problem (bogus error
messages).
I'd say if you have a problem with automake on Alpha (wasn't that what
you mentioned?), try fixing it and sending them the bug. Otherwise,
don't hold your breath.
