Somehow I have problems with the current auto* tools,
namely:
automake --version; autoconf --version; libtool --version
automake (GNU automake) 1.4-p4

autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.50a

ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4 (1.920 2001/04/24 23:26:18)
Problem is that though I run configure with the --enable-maintainer-mode
switch autoconf is not run automatically. This is the status
_after_ running make
ll configure*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 mai users 316182 Jun 20 10:03 configure
-rw-r--r-- 1 mai users 8435 Jun 20 10:10 configure.in
And if I explicitly
touch configure.in
all I get is:
mai@crunch:~/compile/lesstif/lesstif/lib/Xlt > make
cd /home/mai/compile/lesstif/lesstif/lib/Xlt && aclocal
cd /home/mai/compile/lesstif/lesstif/lib/Xlt && automake --foreign --include-deps
Makefile
/bin/sh ./config.status --recheck
Has someone checked the docs yet? automake shouldn't be the culprit according
to the ChangeLog(?), so only autoconf seems to be responsible?!
