To make a static library (libXm.a rather than libXm.so) you need to configure the
lesstif build to create it.
In your lesstif source directory run

/configure --enable-static (and any other flags you need like --prefix)
make
make install

That should get you a libXm.a installed.

Hope your job is safe,

John L.

Subject: [Lesstif] Help please on Motif

I work on Solaris, but I have this problem. We need to
Install Oracle Forms on Solaris 8(Intel) and it needs
a particular Motif library. The library is libXm.a
which is not on my system. I have LessTif Installed
and the nearest we have to this is libXm.la.
Please my job is on the line, because it is holding a
project from moving on.
I will appreciate if you can tell me what to do.

Pamela
