Hi Lesstif team,
The last time I tested Lesstif with xmcd was Lesstif 0.92.6. I just
tried 0.93.36 and there is one regression that I noticed right away.
In xmcd's main window, there is a normal/basic button on the upper left
corner that switches xmcd between the normal xmcd main window and a
smaller footprint, basic version. With 0.93.36, after the switch to the
basic mode, the text in the label widgets for the track number and time
display does not center itself, causing part of it to become cut off from
view.
This worked fine with Lesstif 0.92.6, as well as with any version of Motif.
I also noticed another anomaly, and this happens with both 0.92.6 and
0.93.36 but not any version of Motif). This is exhibited in some new
code in xmcd that I have not released yet. I have three option menus
laid out side by side in a form dialog. The first one is attached on
the left via XmATTACH_POSITION, on top via XmATTACH_WIDGET, and on
the right and bottom via XmATTACH_NONE. The center option menu is attached
to the first one on the left via XmATTACH_WIDGET, the top and bottom via
XmATTACH_OPPOSITE_WIDGET, and the right via XmATTACH_NONE. The third
one is attached to the second one in the same way. With Motif it all
works fine. However with LessTif, the second and third option menus
comes up missing! It's as if they're not there.
Other minor gripes with 0.93.26:
- The xmcd "About" window comes up with lots of unwanted space between
lines. Maybe this is really an XmString problem, and perhaps related to
the main window track/time display centering issue. It seems as if the
top and bottom spacing is not recomputed for each font in the font list,
so that the spacing for the first font is used for all fonts in the list
instead.
- The numeric scale the follows the slider thumb of a scale widget is
farther up from the thumb than Motif. For xmcd's main window volume
control, this causes the number to "touch" the buttons above it instead
of being centered nicely in its trough.
- Text widgets seem to choose one font size smaller than what the
XMcd*XmText.fontList resource specifies.
