yeah, the openmotif stuff was really what i was talking about (although
i have never actually used it... i am about to try now though)

not to worry.. in fact i have changed over to openmotif for now as these
problems i have dont occur with it, but i'll be happy to put lesstif
back in if you think a solution can be found!
