--- Begin Message ---Hello, Enjoy the following interviews from our in-house Mobile Telephony Gurus. These are some of the people that made MobileNigeria so specialThis mailing may not be archived online, so make sure you store it somewhere! Feel free to forward it to your friends and colleagues or use its contents in discussions online and offline. Just make sure they know where it's from! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: DAVID AJAO (niyyie) http://www.mobilenigeria.com/profile.php?id=100 - Who is David Ajao? My full name is Oluniyi David Ajao. I was born in Kano, (northern part of Nigeria) some decades ago, to parents both from Yorubaland. After a brief stint at Ibadan Polytechnic, I currently work as a Web Developer with Web4Africa. http://www.web4africa.net - How did you discover MobileNigeria? I came across MobileNigeria through one of my online sojourns. It is most probably though Google or that I just typed mobilenigeria.com out of being inquisitive. I cannot really remember. - Why did you decide to join and become active? I wanted to discuss the contemporary state of mobile telephony with my fellow Nigerians. - What do you feel about the MobileNigeria 'end of life' issue? This was rather a horrible decision on the part of the Administrator. He has stated his reasons. I am watching to see him being justified, as time goes. I do not support the decision. - What are the things you want Nigerians to know about Mobile Phone technology? - Firstly, I am a pan-Africanist. Consequently, I want fellow Nigerians to know what every consumer has to know, so they can enjoy the maximum benefits of their mobile phones. This is why I am part of the brains behind MobileAfrica.net It shares useful information about mobile communications technology in Nigeria and the rest of Africa. The key phrase is "useful information". The site has lived up to expectation. It has de-mystified the terms used in the mobile telephony industry. Any one who wants to keep abreast of the current trends and issues in mobile communications in Nigeria and the rest of Africa, would visit this website regularly. There are different sections focused on core areas of mobile communications technology. In a nutshell, every educated Nigerian should know the essence of all the Value Added Services being offered by the mobile telecom operators. I wrote an article over a year ago, this article has been published in the current edition of INTERNET NEWS and some African-focused websites around the globe. You can find the article here; it would give you an insight about what I think. http://www.mobileafrica.net/mobile-telephony-which-way-for-africa.php So long... ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: YOMI ADEGBOYE (AYA) http://www.mobilenigeria.com/profile.php?id=10 - Who is Yomi Adegboye? A: Yomi Adegboye is an average looking sort of fellow - the sort you probably meet everyday. Simple, happy with life, and happy with himself. Quite unconventional in his approach to most issues, and very loyal to the principles he lives by. Married for about 5 years to his best friend of 11 years, and the father of a charming boy and a delectable girl. He loves God, people and technology, in that order. - How did you discover MobileNigeria? A: Sometime last year, I was searching Google for Nigerian technology-related sites and MobileNigeria was one of those I came up with. - Why did you decide to join and become active? A: I actually did not join at the time I found it: it didn't look quite put together and stimulating then. Earlier this year, it was wonderfully overhauled and I felt it now portrayed a sense of purpose and longenvity. I guess I must have been wrong, since it is dead now - just a few months after. - What do you feel about the MobileNigeria 'end of life' issue? A: I am one of those who held to the end that MobileNigeria need not be killed off ("killed" is how I see it, it wasn't ill; and neither was it dying naturally). I still do not agree with what has been done to what was a very vibrant, focussed, engaging and fast-growing forum, but like I have said, I had a life before MobileNigeria - and I still do. Makes no difference to me as an individual, except the impression I get that I largely wasted my time and resources on a project that hardly grew beyond childhood. - What are the things you want Nigerians to know about Mobile Phone technology? A: The answer to that cannot be adequately answered here. But I will say this: Nigerians need to stop thinking less of impressing people and instead give more thought to being productive. Everything else I have to say can be found at http://gosmartmobile.com ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: JOHN SAGAI ADAM (coolapostle) http://www.mobilenigeria.com/profile.php?id=9 - Who is John Sagai Adams? Sagai John Adam is a man :) He likes to eat and sleep. And, oh, anything about GSM Technology. - How did you discover MobileNigeria? The owner told me about it. Saw it, loved it and registered. - Why did you decide to join and become active? To post and create topics really. - What do you feel about the MobileNigeria 'end of life' issue? Bad. "Another one bites the dust!" Disappointed because I had led many to the site and now it is shutting down. - What are the things you want MobileNigeria subscribers to know about Mobile Phone technology? All they need to know is in the archives of my e-zine GSM Today: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ 3 years worth of GSM info and articles! Good luck on your new Baby, Dude. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." Happy weekend! Expect more interviews in part 2. Seun Osewa Administrator, Nairaland, the Nigerian Forum http://www.nairaland.com 23 sub-forums covering all aspects of Nigerian life.
