I'm having a problem with a particular list. When people send a
subscribe command they immediately get this error back:

Your subscription request could not be processed because the
   confirmation
code has expired. If you would like to subscribe to this list please
   try
   your subscription request again.

For more information, send mail to the list administrator:

This error is happening not when they send the confirmation, but when sending the initial subscribe request. They never get the confirmation code. I tried sending to the listname-on address and to requests with the command "subscribe listname" I tried sending the messages in plain text and HTML.

These are the log entries:

I tried rebooting the server and turning off, then turning on confirmation for this list. Other lists seem to be OK (I have too many lists to do an exhaustive test). This particular list is moderated but subscribes and unsubscribes are allowed. I'm running 4.05b11.
