since this list is apparently working again...

what are people doing / planning on doing for when their 10.4 machines will eventually not be any good anymore? i use mailman (included in OSX Server) for a newer small list. but need something for my few- dozen other lists including one larger-ish (5000+ people) broadcast list. something that presumably offers a somewhat easy method of importing the older LetterRip data.

what i have looked at so far :

majordomo - looks considerably less feature rich than LetterRip... in initial looking anyway. wasn't impressed. even slightly.

mailman - not so pleased with this one really. it's *okay*... just not the best thing ever. almost reminds me of my previous ListStar honestly. in that the simple things i want to happen are overly convoluted for (seemingly) the sake of convolution.

listserv - costs $ (my 'big' list is considered 'small' there... so might not be too expensive really) ... seems like it has some nice features. RSS of posts looks nice... i was going to do a third-party script to do this on LetterRip. also doesn't seem to have a built-in SMTP server. i always liked having the list server traffic separate from normal email traffic... was a bigger issue in the past perhaps (when things were running in OS9 / 266Mhz iMacs...)

does anyone have any experience migrating LetterRip lists to any of these other systems? or perhaps know of others?

not a huge immediate need... but something i imagine will be needed sooner rather than later. i'm probably not the only one.

thanks!
