For the Spanish LFS-6.0 translation I needed >8 hours to have a PDF look like
the printed one, using A4 paper size. Having the framework ready and knowing
what tags should be used, the only issue is the time needed to render the PDF
each time that a set of {beginpage/} tags are added, and my current machine is
very fast ;-)

A life-time cycle of 3-4 weeks for testing branches should be enough to do that
work.

I would a professional PDF for each released version, not matter if that version
will go to print or not. But has no sense to have that tags around into the
development version. A bad placed {beginpage/} is worse that no have it at all,
and technical editors don't need to worry about that tags.

Starting the clean-up in few hours...
