+ # Assign udevsend to get hotplug events. udevsend can manage the whole + # hotplug handling by taking over the kernel spawned event process + echo /sbin/udevsend > /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug
Just in case anyone's wondering about this, udev-050 and later can now handle the both udev and hotplug multiplexing tasks, so there's no need for the workarounds we had, swapping the hotplug handler at boot time.
Regards,
Matt.
PS: That is at least my understanding of things, which could be wrong as this is udev & hotplug after all. See http://lwn.net/Articles/122829/ - "Recent Changes to /sbin/hotplug" for more details.
