Do it as you want. I have warned you about possible bug reports (as in "please report this to lfs-dev" red error) concerning the mountfs script. Although they can be directed to libusb page in BLFS.
The only way it's not guaranteed to work is if one relies on hotplug to do the right thing.
Actually, I have looked at the archives and found that the paragraph appeared before the "modules" script was written.
If it's compiled in to the kernel, or is compiled as a module and is mentioned in /etc/sysconfig/modules then it'll work just fine?
