This seems to have something to do with the coreutils build system. The
LFS Coreutils-suppress-uptime-su-kill patch disables the installation of
the su program, but allows to be compiled so that it can be used for the
testsuite. However, I just tried removing the references to the su man
page, and had problems in the test suite. Apparently the coreutils build
does a bunch of checks to make sure all programs that are compiled also
have their manpages installed.
