I usually go with bz2 if they're both there since they're usually
smaller.
I, on the other hand, choose the .gz file. The extra couple seconds
it takes to download the package is less time than the extra time it
takes to unpack the .bz2 file. Plus, download is a one-time thing,
unpacking is typically done several times for package testing
purposes. If I'm updating the book, I download both, the .bz2 to get
the size and md5sum, the .gz to actually unpack and use.
