FWIW, I really don't like this page. --version is a standard GNU-ism
that should be known. For any package that doesn't create a binary of
the same name (coreutils doesn't make a coreutils binary, glibc doesn't
make a glibc binary) is could be reasonable to add this. A proposed
concept would be:

To get the version of some packages, though isn't straight-forward. Here
