Not that it's really that important, but it seems to me that the word you have there now suggests that there was something wrong with the specs even more than the previous one did: From m-w.com: amend 1 : to put right; especially : to make emendations in (as a text) synonym see CORRECT To me, "adjust" says that we are simply tweaking it for our particular needs. adjust 1 a : to bring to a more satisfactory state synonym see ADAPT After all, the entire page is called 'Re-adjusting the toolchain'.
