#2053: add --disable-werror to binutils pass1 --------------------------------------------+------------------------------- Reporter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Owner: [email protected] Type: task | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: 6.3 Component: Book | Version: SVN Severity: normal | Resolution: Keywords: | --------------------------------------------+------------------------------- Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
While we're on the DIY robustness kick, we might want to also consider using '--disable-shared' to gcc Pass 1, with an appropriate libgcc_eh symlink. See these threads for some reference: http://www.diy-linux.org/pipermail/diy-linux-dev/2007-August/001068.html http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-dev/2006-January/055262.html And his rationale for its effect on temporary Glibc: http://www.diy-linux.org/pipermail/diy-linux-dev/2005-June/000556.html There's also several switches he passes to minimize what internal libraries gcc builds and to speed up the bootstrap process. Those could be considered as well. -- Ticket URL: <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/2053#comment:3> LFS Trac <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/> Linux From Scratch: Your Distro, Your Rules. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
