The "NG" version is available from here: ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/util-linux-ng/v2.13/util-linux- ng-2.13.1.tar.bz2 [[BR]] [[BR]] Maybe you should reflect the change of the package also in the book, it's missing the "ng" in chapter 6 (chapter 5 looks ok).
