 I don't go that far, although I am now building all the Pre-X
things like png and xml2 and even freetype.  I first noticed the
problem immediately after postfix (script failed on a typo, when I
restarted the host-specific processing was broken).

 My initial guess was that either postfix or nfs-utils were doing
this, but I can't see it in the code.

 Doesn't really matter, but I figured somebody would have a "why
don't I slim all this down" moment and give it a try, so might as
well document the problem.
