I think it's the best option to follow... trying to give consistent names to network devices in the chroot phase using the variety of proposed methods seemed a bit strange for me (and the reason why I always used the CLFS book for udev) LFS has an educational value, and trying to do the work for the users doesn't seem to be quite educational (from my personal point of view), although... device naming policies aren't specially the easiest part in the system configuration, but it's not that difficult. BLFS has a chapter for naming (for example) the CDRW drive and so on, giving a persistent name for the network card shouldn't be more difficult than that I see more coherent to write some text indicating some examples of rules to accomodate for a certain piece of network hardware, less work needed to keep the book advancing and more time to overcome other tickets & problems (but that's my opinion) ;) Julio -- Ticket URL: <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/2057#comment:23> LFS Trac <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/> Linux From Scratch: Your Distro, Your Rules. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
