I can agree on both accounts there as well. Just to bring it up: if a commit makes 'make' fail, then it matters little if that script runs right away or a few hours later? It's going to fail one way or another. But the validate step ought to fix that. If validation fails, the script aborts and doesn't update the website anymore. That's at least one check & balances in place.
