 it's a very bad idea. As for the Perl Compress::Raw::Zlib issue, let's do
 what gespinasse did and use "LIB = /lib" instead of "LIB = /usr/lib", and
 see if that works.

 A quick test build confirms that passing LIB = /lib builds fine and the
 tests. including the Zlib tests pass.
