According to the FHS, /usr/share/{man,doc,info} are the correct
locations. The LFS book creates symlinks (/usr/{man,doc,info}) to
account for broken packages that try to install in /usr/{man,doc,info}.
I suggested many months ago to fix the broken packages by using
mandir, infodir, docdir, but it was determined that it wasn't worth
the effort because the symlinks are there.
I suggest this ticket be closed.
