sorry for the delay.
i rebuilt with several different settings and now i can tell you about my results. as mentionned, LC_ALL and LANG are NOT EXACTLY the same: when the script sets LC_ALL each invocation of a subshell prints an error, as bash validates the given locale, but setting LANG does not make this check. diffing the different runs results in just a few small issues which i tracked down to be build-time information. thus the easiest is to put "LANG=de_CH.UTF8" into the profile. tobias -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
