The pkg.m4 macro in pkg-config-0.25 causes autoconf-2.66 and newer to
die.with
error: possibly undefined macro: AS_MESSAGE_LOG_FDdnl
I've put the upstream fix for pkg-config in patches/ Marking as 'high'
priority because we are near to release and this package is part of the
base LFS.

For small changes, I prefer a sed. Here we only need to add [] in two
places.
How about:
{{{ sed -i -e 's/XT])dnl/XT])[]dnl/' \
-e 's/\.])dnl/.])[]dnl/' pkg.m4
}}}
I tried to combine the expression into one, but that makes it even more
complicated.
