ex:/
ipv4 + ipv6
ipv4 + ipv4
bridge + ipv4
may I suggest ifconfig.eth0.d? a for loop should not be too unreadable...
and still works with the single file setup.
for x in ifconfig.eth0 ifconfig.eth0.d/*
do
if -f "$x"
[insert magic here]
fi
done
