I am going through the book (development version) for the first time using
Ubuntu 11.10 as the base OS.
At chapter 5.7 (Glibc-2.14.1), `make` would not run due to unescaped
slashes on a few lines (19, 59, and a few others) of glibc-2.14.1/scripts
/gen-sorted.awk.
Escaping the slashes allowed `make` to compile, as expected.
