I fixed this in mountvirtfs, but we need to make sure /lib/udev/devices
has both:

crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 3 May 15 02:24 null
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 15 02:24 pts
}}}
Closing as fixed in revision 9868, but above needs to addressed when we
fix #3098.
