We are told to enter:

if (&term == "iterm") || (&term == "putty")
set background=dark
endif
}}}
I think ''iterm'' should be replaced by ''xterm''. I did that, and colors
are much better.
(Making a ticket, since it seems it got unnoticed on the mailing list)
