Comment (by bdubbs):
I read the iwn article and a lot of the comments. My underestanding is
that udev rules for some devices are broken due to the kernel adding some
new actions, specifically "BIND" and "UNBIND".
To me, assuming that the set of actions the kerenl emits will never change
is a bit shortsighted, but agree that there should be better communication
between kernel and systemd developers. As best i can tell, the problems
outside of systemd itself are somewhat rare. I do note that on a
sysv/udev build there are now rules like:
77-mm-broadmobi-port-types.rules:ACTION!="add|change|move|bind",
GOTO="mm_broadmobi_port_types_end"
so eudev appears to have known about the issue for some time.
Other than updating libinput (done) and systemd, it's not clear to me that
we need to make any changes to LFS/BLFS.
