It's not quite a benchmark, but when I converted my LFS-5.1 to nptl threads (according to the hint then) I was also busy on a program simulating ising model variants on a lattice. nptl sped up the execution time between a factor of 3 and 5. I was very much impressed although I must add that my experience with programming threads was about zilch at the time so it could also have been down to better handling of my cumbersome code.
