I've never had a problem with Slackware. The development packages are complete, but you'll need to upgrade to kernel 2.6 after installing it.. unless you install the testing version. It has mozilla.. which is not unlike firefox I think. Other distributions will build LFS-6.0 too, but I think Slackware is the least complicated of them all.
