Hello everyone,

Finally a topic for lfs-chat!

Many people on irc have expressed their interest about playing quake 3 games online again and therefore I have added a quake 3 server to my lfs-matrix.de server. The connection is 100mbit and it is in central Europe (Frankfurt a.M., Germany). Currently all the maps from our lfs games before are on the server, and also the ufreeze mod so that we can play freeze tag as well.

The server is always on so if you would like to test how your ping times are, go ahead and connect to the lfs-matrix.de server. The maps are on auto-download, but for some reason seem to download at 12k/s (this seems to be normal according to a bit of googling) even though the server has a 100mbit connection. If you would rather download separately, the maps are also available on http://lfs-matrix.de/~quake3/. If anyone would like any other maps, then please let me know where I can get them. Ping times should be reasonable. Inside of Europe I have seen as low as 32 on the server, while mine (all the way to California) is 130 or so. Can't really help that though. ;)

So, now the question: What time is good for everyone?

Again for reference:
Quake3 Server: lfs-matrix.de
Quake3 Maps: http://lfs-matrix.de/quake3/

Also, I am not the best at q3 configs, so if something is missing or wrong, please don't hesitate to say so!

Regards,

Justin
