I am attempting to build a x86_64 system on an amd64 4600
machine. I'm using 64 bit debian as the building system. I
HAVE successfully build a 32 bit lfs system using a 32 bit
version of suse 10.1 on my 64 bit machine. When I came back
to the a 64 bit debian system build I find that I'm editing
many lines of code eg changing ld-linux-so.2 --->
ln-linux_x86_64.so.2. I'm experiencing many problems,
latest is a failure of the gcc recompile in chapter 5.

What I would like to know: is lfs the correct approach OR
should I be using clfs package. If lfs is correct can
someone point me in to a concise list of files that need to
be modified to build the a x86_64 linux.

Regards

Herb
