New problem, which may or may not be related to my previous problems, where I 
would be unpacking a tarball, or using the cdrom, and the system would stop 
responding.

I reinstalled a new lfs SVN-20070514. I think the only modification I made was 
setting --host=i486-pc-linux-gnu. Now, once in a while, everything will 
segfault... I'll be minding my own business, everything works, then the next 
second all programs segfault when I start them. Running programs work fine. 
Then a minute later the system hangs. I generally need a 2-4 week uptime 
before this happens.

Does this sound familiar to any of you? Before I suspected the disc 
controller, but now it looks more like RAM, but my previous memtest was not 
bad.
