Some of you may remember my 2005 summer project:

Now I found something far more complicated for 2009:

Day 1:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~robert/snowflake/day1-hexagons.jpg

These hexagons took 45 minutes each to make, by hand (with power tools). I'm
making this snow flake with bevels on all edges (inside and out), at various
angles, and black granite (with copper specks) inserts for the center lines.
All joined pieces include a change of height, of no more than 5mm. About 60
pieces total, 83cm total width. Every other edge will be etched with acid,
staggered like a checker board, except the black granite. Absolutely no idea
of the total time needed. What I did today was the easiest part of the job.

The puzzle was very female, all curves. This snow flake is very male, all
straight lines except for a few ovals. This snow flake is the most
complicated design I could think of.

I'm making this for fun, but if any of you would like to buy this thing, or
the puzzles, let me know.

More photo's to come.
