What I'll do is a pair of installation of LFS (referred in an email to the support list regarding CLFAGS), the first one by the book but for the second one, I'll test LLVM for LFS and BLFS and report back.

Depending on how different LLVM's build machinery is to GCC's, our 3-pass build method may not be appropriate. Other than that, I think LLVM is able to build the kernel now, so it should be able to cope with the other packages in LFS too. BLFS may be a different matter, but any results you could provide would be interesting.
