This morning when I turned on my samsung syncmaster 740N monitor, there was a dark spot in the middle of the screen which was more prominent on white backgrounds.I gently cleaned the monitor with a damp washcloth thinking it was a speck of dart but it didn't help.I then searched the net and found several tips for removing *stuck* pixels, but most of the article said that dead pixels cannot be repaired and one can return the monitor if within warranty period and the number of defects matches the manufacturer's return policy or live with it.Now if the dead pixel was in the corner , it wouldn't be so noticeable but the dot is right in the middle of the screen which gets in the way while browsing, watching movies, reading documents etc.Now the monitor was bought in 2007 and the warranty period is long gone.So i want to know whether the dot can be repaired or applying any methods so that it does not get noticeable or should i think about buying a new monitor ?
