Maybe it would be worthwhile to see what a call for donations can scratch

I'd like to cut down the recurring monthly colocations fees.
I've come across at least one deal where you can get a dedicated server
(with an AMD chip!) for $60 US/month. This one has 1000 GB Data Transfer
per month.
So, I know there's competitive offers like this out there. (Justin
Knierim seems to be able to sniff out good deals, :) ) Is another $60 US
per month a burden for you, Gerard? Perhaps. Only you could say.
However, we have, I believe, at least 15 active members in the community
right now. If we could get them to commit to $4 - $5/month, that would
pay for the server.
I understand your reasons for wanting the setup you're suggesting, ie.,
a location near you, free service, etc. However, IMHO, it's not really
very wise to put the main LFS server, with all its various demands, on
the same machine as your company's main router/server. Even with a UML
or some other similar setup - at some point one aspect will affect the
other adversely. Either we LFSers will manage to bring down your
company's machine, or vice versa. Or the load will end up being too
great to handle both. It may work fine when you first set it up, but
these things always have a way getting bogged down. I belive that falls
into the principle of entropy...
Anyway, just MHO. I personally feel it's a bad idea to do what you're
suggesting.
