Hi, i have had one problem while trying to the LFS 6. pre2 install, in that during chapter 6 it seemed to not find gcc at all. Gcc was reported to be under /tools/bin/gcc, no matter changing the path or using ./tools/bin/gcc, it didnt find it. It found other binaries in that directory. In the faq i found no entry of this specific gcc problem, via google i found some links to this problem, but none of the solution worked for me.
I have probably done an error somewhere, but apart from this, it all really worked nicely until up to this problem, even chrooting. I will give LFS a happy try again lateron, the quality is very good, especially in that it explains what it is doing, or what someone needs to do. :) I have now one suggestion, in that maybe there could be a way to send feedback to you guys via a web formular. I dont ask for a wiki - this might probably not be the best choice - but more something to a system which is akin likely to how php.net uses user comments - you can post information or scripts which you wrote. Maybe some kind of drop-down style user comments could be used, and maybe if you dont want to have this on the main book, you could make one that uses it. I for one would happily use that and give feedback this way (i think that would be the main advantage of having such a system). I hope i could explain what i wanted to suggest, thanks for the decent work with LFS so far! -- _______________________________________________ Check out the latest SMS services @ http://www.linuxmail.org This allows you to send and receive SMS through your mailbox.
