Right below the configure command is a description of the "localstatedir" option. This description should probably in the standard format used in the rest of the book ("The meaning of the configure options: [bulleted list] --localstatedir..."). The same can be said for Vim and the description of --enable-multibyte.

Also, the "meaning of the configure options" phrase used for many package installation instructions should probably be "meaning of the NEW configure options" since some (like --prefix=/usr) don't need to be explained (or were already explained earlier in the book). It does read "new" for a few packages, but only a few. The word "options" should also get the "s" removed for the packages that only have 1 option listed in that section.
