The pure64 stuff is new to cross-lfs, we are looking into issues with
the bootloaders right now. Right now no bootloaders build properly as
your report just helps me to confirm this. I hope to have a solution
for x86_64, sparc, and MIPS 64 bit builds this week.
As Alexander wrote you can build lilo 64 bit, I did that succesfully
about 6 months ago and have not had any problems with it.
