Hi all,

Does anyone at all use the Openquicktime library for anything useful?

I would like to remove this package from BLFS for the following
reasons:

1. It is a dead project. No new stable release in over 4 years.

2. There is a mention of an optional downloadable codec, but no
mention what to do with it or how to make any use of it.

3. The current GCC-3.4 patch is a semi-hack and now a new patch
will be required for GCC-4 as it will not build.

4. There is no BLFS package which references this library as a
dependency.

5. There is a better quicktime library which *is* referenced as a
dependency in BLFS packages at http://libquicktime.sourceforge.net/
