Never mind, Jim. :-( But, just to summarize: Ken asked "Why is there a sed -i in Chapter 5 GCC instructions. It won't work there if you're not using a supported version of sed." Jim said "Ken, you can use sed -i as long as it is after the Chapter 5 sed installation." Randy then commented wondering how Jim's statement helps out what Ken had to say. Ken already knew what you said Jim, that's why he said something to begin with. Ken, be more deliberate. Say this instead. "The book needs to be fixed at the GCC-Pass2 instructions in Chapter 5 because it uses what may be an unsupported sed command." Better yet, just jump in there and fix it yourself. :-) -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 19:56:01 up 149 days, 19:29, 3 users, load average: 0.19, 0.05, 0.04 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
