Keep in mind; all these changes may, or may not bring about undesirable results. What we do know, though, is that it won't make anything any better. At best it is what we have now. Why make changes to something that works, that doesn't result in something better?
Overall, I tend to agree. The build order we have now is an evolution of seven years of experience. One could say it is rock solid. Changing it may or may not break things. The only thing that I would be careful about is analyze how the three toolchain packages behave. But changing the order of a package like coreutils to a bit earlier or later probably won't kill anything.
Before we speculate any further, how about we get updated. I too am slowly lost on what impact the changes have.
Compared to current LFS Trunk, what would exactly change when the alphabetical branch is merged?
