Please lets not do that.  I teach a course in "Advanced Unix Security"
(although all the students aren't *that* advanced) and we start out with
a "base" system, add apps to it for security, and configure for specific
secure functionality.  I'll let you guess what that base system is.  :)

IOW, I think the level of the book is just right.
