I doubt it; the kernel source for 2.6.15.3 has something in the USB core
that appears to create a sysfs entry for modalias.
Andrew, I would guess that your issue might be related to using
MODALIAS="?*" in your rule (if you used what I posted earlier) instead
of ENV{MODALIAS}="?*". Alexander corrected this after I posted it.
