Most definitely. There are important changes because they fiddle with the udev loop which may or may not cause the bootscript to finish before all the modules are loaded. Have a look in DJ's home dir: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~dj/bootscripts/ The 0405 version is good. Look in the LFS bugs for SWAPON sometimes fails. That has to do with this issue.
