Hi guys,

I think I'm one of few who just gotten utterly lost in the long threads regarding the issues of udev and bootscripts. I'm not going to raise the noise on this list by asking for summaries because I think I no longer understand the viewpoints of the affected projects (co-) leaders. I've already sent emails to them to summarize their personal point of view to make sure I get the point again.

I figure these summaries may or may not need to be sent to this list. I suppose a lot of you guys could be equally confused what people are really thinking or wanting done.

The one thing that *is* clear is that something needs to be done sooner rather than later. I hope we can all find a working compromise without continuing the heated arguments.

Seeing today is a holiday in the US and some of the people I need to talk to are from the US, I'm not sure how much will get done today but we'll see. Just bear with us all for a bit please.

Thanks.
